The exhibition "The Silk Road--Original Spiritual Home of Japanese Musical Instruments" opened at the Min-On Music Museum in the Min-On Culture Center in Tokyo on May 17. Formerly called the Music Library, it was renamed the Min-On Music Museum in December 2003, following an official designation as a music museum by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Board of Education. The exhibition displays musical instruments from places along the Silk Road--the cultural highway that was a crossroads between East and West and a profound influence on Japanese culture.
