Women Educators Conference

Commemorating Bolivian Women's Day (October 11), the Education Committee of Chuquisaca Province, Bolivia, and SGI-Bolivia cohosted a Women Educators Conference in Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia, on October 7. Some 350 women educators from local elementary, junior high and high schools discussed the future of education.

An SGI-Bolivia representative introduced first Soka Gakkai president Tsunesaburo Makiguchi's pedagogy, which places highest priority on enabling students to create value and achieve happiness. Sucre Mayor Hugo Loayza emphasized that humanistic education is crucial for improving people's quality of life.
