Model UNGA

On July 13, the SGI-UK Taplow Court centre hosted its third Model UN General Assembly. Some 120 students from 12 schools in the nearby town of Slough participated. As small groups representing country delegations, the students discussed critical human issues such as counteracting terror, providing adequate drinking water to all people and nuclear power. The simulated UN General Assembly enabled young people to express their thoughts and ideas and encouraged many to think more deeply about the world events that shape their society. Some expressed their resolve to discover ways in which they can contribute to peace.
