Brazil Soka School's First Entrance Ceremony

At the entrance ceremony

Brazil Soka School (BSS), located in Vila Mariana, São Paulo, Brazil, held its first entrance ceremony on February 3, 2003. Originally established in 2001 as Brazil Soka Kindergarten, it became an elementary school in November 2002, enrolling students from kindergarten to second grade. At the ceremony, School Principal Dirce Ivamoto expressed her wish to further promote first Soka Gakkai president Tsunesaburo Makiguchi's value-creating pedagogy which is based on the belief that education exists for the sake of children's happiness and fulfillment.

Since 1994, the SGI-Brazil educators group has implemented the Makiguchi Project in 150 Brazilian elementary and junior high schools, reaching a total of 640,000 children.
