SGI-UK hosted an interfaith conference entitled "Active Faith: Global Citizenship and Learning for the Future" at its Taplow Court center on June 21 which aimed to motivate faith communities to contribute to raising awareness of global citizenship and sustainable development. The 30 participants represented Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist traditions as well as international NGOs, including Save the Children. Attendees held active discussions on resolving global issues such as epidemics, war and conflict, and environmental destruction. SGI-UK General Director Robert Samuels stated that people are seeking united efforts toward peace and happiness and called on participants to strengthen cooperative programs.
