Women and Peace
On March 24-25, Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) hosted a conference titled "The Role of Women in Building Bridges of Peace through Culture and Arts." The conference, the latest in an annual series of activities promoting the role of women in building a culture of peace, was held at the SGM Culture Centre in Kota Kinabalu, located in the Sabah region.
The forum, conducted in Chinese and English, addressed how culture and the arts are integral to realizing peace, the importance of preserving traditional values and culture, and the building of bridges of peace at home and in the community.
The exhibition "Women Nurturing Peace," portraying the role women play in building peace as they transform fear into strength and bring out their inherent compassion, was held in conjunction with the conference.
