"Seeds of Change" in Guanajuato [Roberto Toledo]
Guanajuato Mayor Nicéforo Guerrero Reynoso opened the "Seeds of Change" exhibition at the City of Guanajuato Culture Center on April 20, one of the first activities in Mexico's celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the Earth Charter. The exhibition was displayed until May 20, and was viewed by more than 4,000 people. A series of events and workshops was organized by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Guanajuato local and state governments and the University of Guanajuato from April 22 to 24 to mark Earth Day and Earth Charter +10.
At the university auditorium on April 23, Earth Charter International Council Chair Steven Rockefeller expressed his thanks to Mexico for its exemplary role in utilizing the Earth Charter and urged a united effort toward the Cancún Climate Summit later this year. [Speech]
"Seeds of Change" was also shown at the headquarters of the Emirates National Oil Company in Dubai from May 2-6, launched by its Wellness and Social Programme Committee as an internal initiative to educate employees on the importance of a sustainable way of life.
